Thanks to the new GD10 10-passenger gondola commissioned by Plose Ski S.p.A., Brixen can now boast a state-of-the-art ropeway. Choosing LEITNER as a partner is a guarantee of innovation and experience.
After almost 40 years of reliable service from the previous 6-passenger gondola, in the summer of 2022 Plose Ski S.p.A. invested 26 million euro in the construction of the new GD10 lift on the Plose. The company chose LEITNER’s popular and very comfortable Diamond EVO cabins to bring hikers and cyclists to the Plose starting from the 2023 summer season, and then all winter sports enthusiasts throughout the year.
“The current subdivision of the route offers considerable advantages for us in the area. Through careful overall planning, LEITNER creates new and valuable infrastructure options reflected in the use of the buildings. Visitors can comfortably ascend from the valley station to the top station via the middle station in just eight minutes.”
- Dr. Alessandro Marzola, CEO of Plose Ski S.p.A.
An ingenious design for maximum comfort
In the future, it will be possible to use a depot for cabins in the middle station, which will serve as a parking area for cabins outside operating hours and during maintenance work.
This reorganisation has made new areas in the valley and top stations accessible without barriers, permitting the construction of a service centre with rental and sale of sports equipment, an information office, first aid point and service rooms for the staff of the top station.
Fun and sport all year round
The use of the new LEITNER Diamond EVO cabins allows sports enthusiasts to fully enjoy their visit to the Plose all year round, allowing them to take their skis, sleds and similar equipment with them to the mountain station in winter or bicycles and mountaincarts in summer.
Ski area and hiker’s paradise
The ropeway on the Plose in Brixen (South Tyrol) offers a wide range of activities for outdoor enthusiasts all year round, meeting the expectations of both sports enthusiasts and those seeking relaxation. While in summer the Plose attracts mainly hikers and cyclists, winter sports enthusiasts can enjoy 42.5 kilometres of slopes and seven lifts.
