We are deeply saddened and our thoughts are with the victims and relatives of the terrible accident that occurred yesterday, May 23, at the Stresa-Mottarone gondola lift. The most recent magnetic rope testing was performed in November 2020 and no irregularities were detected. The entire system was overhauled in August 2016, including the cabins, carriages, drive and electrical equipment. Since then, inspections on the ropes have been done annually in November. We will do everything we can to identify the causes of this terrible tragedy as quickly as possible
