On 6 November 2024, LEITNER opened a new, globally oriented logistics center for customer service in Oppeano, Italy. With 21,000 square meters of space, the state-of-the-art center sets new standards in digitalization, automation and innovation.
The logistics center can accommodate up to 10,000 pallets and can handle up to 180,000 material movements annually – all to efficiently and reliably deliver spare parts and materials to customers around the world.
Cutting-edge technology for maximum efficiency
LEITNER invested over five million euros in the latest technologies for the logistics center. An SAP-supported warehouse management system ensures improved tracking of goods. Innovative scanner solutions enable the transition to paperless processes, creating a basis on which up to 80% of logistics processes can be digitized and increasingly automated.
Sustainability as a central component
LEITNER not only values state-of-the-art technology, but also sustainability. A photovoltaic system on the roof of the center produces clean energy that is used directly for operations. In addition, earthquake-proof shelves have been integrated to optimally protect the stored goods.
A strategic step into the future
Anton Seeber, CEO, sums up: ‘This logistics center will improve the efficiency and sustainability of our processes on a global level.’
The logistics center in Oppeano is more than just a warehouse – it is an important step into the future. With this new building, LEITNER is increasing the efficiency of its logistics, improving customer support worldwide and making an active contribution to greater sustainability.
