In just a few short years, LEITNER has implemented four new lift installations in the ski region of Vemdalen in central Sweden. These include the longest and fastest chairlift in the country, as well as the shortest. In 2011, LEITNER ropeways built the CD6 chairlift Skalet-Express in Vemdalen. With an overall length of 592 meters, the installation is not only the shortest in Sweden, it is also the first in the country to provide child-safety features. Vemdalen may be the smallest of the five SkiStar resorts, but in terms of popularity it is already number three behind Sälen and Åre. An above-average proportion of its visitors are families with children. The new system is therefore part of an ongoing effort to add value and comfort to an all-round family friendly concept. With a maximum capacity of 2,400 persons per hour, the new chairlift also means significantly greater comfort for skiers and snowboarders in Vemdalen.
