A place steeped in history - and with a contemporary transport concept. Two thousand years ago, the Turkish city of Bergama, then known as Pergamon, was one of the most important metropolises of the fading era. Today, the Acropolis and various archaeological sites attract many tourists, and this strong demand has also brought the tour buses to town - but the weight of them is damaging the streets and archaeological terrain. It was therefore decided to introduce an alternative transport system comprising an 8-person cable car, which also integrated an overall tourism concept with restaurant, store and souvenir shop. This transportation system was implemented and delivered by LEITNER ropeways in record time, and the gondola has run to the client’s full satisfaction since it began operating in the third quarter of 2010. In short, a transport concept that has quickly proven itself.
