GD8 Sapanca

The new GD8 “Sapanca” gondola lift begins near the main transport route between Istanbul and Ankara about 10 kilometers from the local rail station, and carries visitors from there up on to the local viewpoint, 320 meters above. This 8-passenger gondola lift is the first in Turkey to be equipped with LEITNER’s new Diamond EVO Premium cabins. A total of 36 cabins travel at a speed of 5 m/s, providing safe, comfortable transport between mountain and valley over a distance of around 1.5 kilometers. The bottom and top stations are each integrated into the existing buildings, which minimizes the encroachment of building work into the natural surroundings and means that all of the important facilities are very close to the entrance and exit.
