The new tricable gondola lift connects the traditional resort of Voss in Southern Norway with the local mountain of Hangurstoppen and the popular hiking, excursion and ski area. The system is a key element as part of an intermodal transport concept which envisages a “green line” between Bergen and Voss. This should shift more traffic to the railways and create a seamless transition to the ropeway. The significant gain in time is intended to attract more day visitors and thus promote winter and summer tourism. The bottom station has been integrated into the redesigned station area, which includes a new bus station. This created a central traffic junction near the town center.
