Intent on remaining at the forefront of modern ropeway systems and comfort, Bergbahn AG Kitzbühel once again extended its long-standing, successful partnership with LEITNER. The aging “Gauxjoch” surface lift was replaced by a modern 6-seater chairlift with all the features one could wish for. Every hour, premium individual chairs with intelligent heating and slightly tinted weather bubbles carry 2,400 visitors to this premium ski resort at an impressive speed of 6 m/s. The efficient, resource-saving LEITNER Direct- Drive system is complemented by a LeitDrive frequency inverter which, perfectly attuned to the motor, guarantees a high overall efficiency of 96 percent across every load range. Then there is LEITNER’s Intelligent Heat Detector (IHD) system, which utilizes a heat sensor on one of the ropeway’s vehicles combined with the access barriers, to automatically regulate the seat heating and save energy. This sustainable ropeway also has photovoltaic panels on the station canopy.
